Why Handwriting is important for children

Learning to write is a fundamental learning block of education

Handwriting is a vital tool for young children to express themselves and enhances brain activity, particularly in areas linked to language and memory.

Through handwriting practice, pre-schoolers go beyond merely forming letters; they develop their ability to recognise and retain them.

This critical relationship between writing and reading lays the foundation for strong literacy skills, making handwriting practice an essential resource for early childhood education.

What causes messy handwriting?

In handwriting, fine motor skills help children to easily grip and control a pencil and apply pressure on the paper. If a child often breaks the pencil while writing, they might be using a grip that is too firm, or if letters are too dark or light on a piece of paper, the cause might be due to an inability to control how much pressure they apply.

Make learning the alphabet, numbers, letters and sentence building easy with Love Writing Co.

Our Tripod grip pencils have been developed to encourage the correct tripod grip and apply less pressure for neater writing ability.
